UK Wide Ultra High Pressure Water Blasting

While Greenleaf Contractors specialise in using a variable pressure sand jetting system that has been used nationwide for property restoration, including gaining approval for and subsequently working on many Listed Buildings. The system, in our trained hands, causes minimal damage to an underlying surface and is flexible enough to tackle most property restoration cleaning tasks. The sand jet can clean surfaces without injecting large quantities of water into the surface, and with minimal surface damage, at the same time, the 'damp' system also captures dirt and abrasive, preventing the health and safety risks associated with dry blasting.

However, there are times when plain pressurised water is an acceptable alternative. It is certainly cheaper, and can be quite effective for surface contaminants such as algae and grime. Subsequent cleaning with the sand jet can remove stubborn stains. We own electric, petrol and diesel powered machines, and the big diesel machine will also generate high pressure hot water and steam. Our thermatec machine will generate superheated steam at 'moderate' pressures

We can also hire in (or purchase if your job is big enough!) big beast machines generating 2500bar (or more) - the definition of "Ultra High Pressure Water" . These pressures will easily strip paint from surfaces - the only significant issue from a post cleaning point of view is that some paints require a key to the surface - and this isn't generated by water blasting - but we know a machine that couples the low pressure sand jet to the power of UHP water jetting to create a very aggressive and rapid clean.

Line Marking Removal

We mainly use Ultra High Pressure Water for the removal of thermoplastic road or playground markings from tarmac or concrete. This uses a 'scater' tool that directs the 2500bar water downwards in a safe direction away from the operator. It will remove thick plastic coatings in a 20cm wide swathe at slow walking pace.

Boat Cleaning

This environment agency barge in Thorne Marina, East Yorkshire, was specified to have the existing bitumen and loose paint removed with Ultra High Pressure Water - given the state of the boat I would have preferred to use the sand jet - but in fact we didn't actually puncture the skin of the boat in the process!

Key Benefits

  • Ultra High Pressure Water is a fast and cost effective system compared to other techniques, but hire costs mean that there is a break even point where it will win over Sand jetting
